Nāpili Park Emergency Community Resource Center

'Nāpili Noho' was a community based emergency distribution hub at Nāpili Park. Our focus was on those directly effected & displaced by the Lahaina fire disaster.

We distributed donated foods, local produce, dry goods, hygiene items, shoes, clothes, camping gear and more. For over a year our grocery store alone averaged hundreds of families a day. Our hub also served as a site for health services, lomilomi, job & benefit assistance, internet access and many family oriented events like our 'Keiki days', our Resource Fairs and a classic 'Holloween Bash' as well as musical events from local talent to international artists.

Napili Noho rallied people together in a time of need with effective grassroots collection point workflows. Building systems and resulting analytics for improvement, to deliver positive change in a volatile time of emergency. We endeavored to provide a family oriented place of aloha, sharing our templates for rehabilitation and essential resources to help our community heal and rebuild.

And we had amazing help from so many. From community members to worldwide organizations, Helping Us Help Others. We want to give out big mahalos to each and every one of you for coming together with us and making a difference with aloha, kōkua and kāko‘o.

SUNSETTING

The time has come and the sun is setting for Napili Noho. We are grateful to have been able to serve our community over the past 13 months, acting as both a conduit for essential goods and a space for healing together.  By summer we had distributed over $15 million in food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and more. We could not have done this without the help of countless committed volunteers and staff.

As Lahaina transitions from immediate relief to long-term rebuilding, Napili Noho has always intended to be a temporary, emergency-focused organization, and we are proud to have achieved our goal. Mahalo Nui for your understanding and support.

Kaipo Kekona : Napili Noho

OUR START

Following Lahaina's devastating fire, Nāpili Noho was born as a Families Helping Families collection point. West Maui was isolated, no electricity, no communication, closed roads. Our community faced critical shortages: food, water, fuel, medical assistance, and essential supplies. We set up operations to receive and distribute the emerging inflow of supplies, info & resources arriving from various channels.

Our Mission at Napili Noho

OUR MISSION

Was to serve as a community hub for the constantly evolving needs of our westside community. Empowered by partnering with various organizations & nonprofits, we offered a wide range of services & resources focusing on those directly effected by the disaster in Lahaina.

Come to Nāpili park, raise your spirits & get support with food, water, care services, live music, resources, events & more as available.

Nāpili Noho was a lifeline for many through the evolving aftermath of this Lahaina disaster.

Napili Noho - Our Future

OUR FUTURE

We were committed to standing with the families of West Maui and to empower them with our emergency resources for as long as recovery takes. With the help of generous donations and strategic planning we developed our distribution resource center and a temporary community and education resource center.

This initiative received verbal support from local and state governments. Maholos for joining us in this effort to meet the needs of our community until Lahaina is reborn.
